How did you become a commercial illustrator?

It was a coincidence. After a solo exhibition of my paintings I was asked if I would like to illustrate a children’s book. It was new and exciting. I said yes.

Describe your working style.

When I illustrate, I do it for myself…as if I was 10 years old.

What is your studio like?

It’s a small room in my apartment that I love!

Tell us about a recent project which you really enjoyed.

I like all my projects. Otherwise I wouldn’t do it! But the research for the book “To 80 days around the world” was very exciting, I just loved searching for old locomotives and ships…
